Pluto in Astrology

In Astrology Pluto is made to represent the part of a person that destroys in order to renew, through bringing buried but intense needs to the surface and expressing them, even at the expense of existing order. Pluto is called "The Great Renewer". The world Pluto means "God of the Underworld" in Roman Mythology.

In Roman Mythology, Pluto is the God of the Underworld and of Weath. This is why it's symbel is the coinc and chalice glyph. It is considered that Pluto and it's moon, Charon, are locked in a power struggle due to the Size of Charon in relation to Pluto and the way the two planets revolve around a common point in space lying between them. This is symbolic of the role that Pluto has come to represent astrologically.
